Updates

Yeah, been quite a long while since I wrote, mostly because there hasn't been much to write about, although looking back at my last post, I guess there has been, at least with regard to health, which, B"H, is good news.

My trachea has been completely healed.  Both Mitch and I have come a long way with our physical therapies.  Still not at 100% but definitely far better than when we started.  Allergy season has been pretty bad for me here, though, and my asthma has been in full bloom.  We actually didn't go swimming as much as we would have liked during the summer because I couldn't breathe.  I am taking medicines to keep it under control, and now that the fall is here, it's starting to get a little better (although I'm still having a few bad days).

Today was actually the first time in a very long time that Mitch and I took a little hike in nature.  We found another lovely county park with a huge lake that we walked around, and then walked a bit on one of the trails.  We tried to do a geocache but it was a little too complicated to find and I was getting kind of tired.  Still, I haven't been able to walk that much for a few years, so therapy is definitely helping!  Sadly, I did need to stop to use my inhaler at one point.  Still a lot of pollen out there, especially in the woods.

During September (Labor Day weekend), we took a trip up to NYC to visit my dad and Mitch's sister.  We had to drive (10 hours each way) as we couldn't afford the airfare + rental car.  We also got to see Mitch's bil and nephew & family.

Also in September, I took a trip down to FL for the 2nd annual "sisters' weekend" and had a great time.

High Holidays were spent with our congregation.  We have both been working hard to participate in more community events and are making a handful of friends.  We hope to be inviting more people for Shabbat dinners in the near future.
